View and reply rate numbers. What to do with them?
Many times I was asked to check Upwork statistics. Usually people don't understand what to do with it. Let me describe it better.
The average view rate is 20%. The average reply rate is 10%.
It means that the average reply rate is 50% from views.
Good view and good reply
So If your profile shows you 25% View - 12,5% reply rate - everything is okay. We can work on raising your view rate (because there is always a window to improve) but it’s a usual stat that every second person replies.
Bad view and good reply
If your profile has 5% - 2,5%. Guess what? Your cover letters most probably are okay but your profile is not matching OR your first line is not bright enough to grab attention. Rework profile and first line of your cover letter
Good view and bad reply
If your bids stats are 25% - 5%. Your profile is matching well but your cover letter is very bad. Rework it.
Main things to remember for view rate!
- Don't forget to rename your contracts to have keywords in your profile history
- Don't forget that right now the main Algorithm is UMA so make sure your profile shows your experience organically and do not use the keywords like hashtags anymore!
- Use a specialized profile to bid as it has more skills.
- Make your first line bright and eye-catching!
