The list of actions you need to do on Upwork to be successful
Recently, I watched a TED video about situations where people feel stuck and like they can't do anything else. But they’re not in jail.
It reminded me of people who think they've already done everything they can to improve their Upwork profile and sales process. They say things like, "Upwork isn’t good anymore," or "There are no leads."
😒👎🙄😕But the "funniest" part was when my client said, "I don’t have 8 hours to do full research." Okay, so what should I say? Don’t do it? You're not in jail. You’re just not going to win.
So, let me be more critical than usual and bully you a bit. What aren’t you doing that you should?
- You should finally do that keyword research for bidding!
Remember! Specialised profiles - for bidding so you are checking keywords from JOBS!
- You should do that suggested words and related queries research for invites!
Remember! General profile is for the talent search so you are improving here only your general profile! I am SCREAMING AT YOU NOW.
- Project Catalog is now at the top—you should add it! With keywords!
Btw, one more add-on. Starter pack and delivery time now plays the crucial role in ranging projects as well as keywords.
- Every day, you should update your profile. Every day.
- Every day, you should check where you stand in talent search. Example
- At the end of every week, you should review your conversion rates from the previous week.
- If your conversion isn’t good, you should analyze your bids and lost opportunities.
Just for those who didn't get how to analyse bids, I'll do another article. However, long story short, you can analyze did lead answer other people or hire other people but not you?
- You should have a CRM system to track your progress and leads.
- You should be polite with your clients. I send my greetings to all the teams I reviewed messages for last month. That’s when I realized how rude we can be with our leads.
- You should follow up with your leads at least four times.
- You should stay informed about Upwork updates to adapt quickly.
