Upwork’s been changing a lot lately, so if you haven’t been paying attention, here’s a quick update on what’s new (and broken):

Related Search Words Are Important
If you're trying to show up in talent searches, you need to add more than just your regular keywords. You now have to include words from the "related search" section. Yep, it’s a bit tricky, but it’ll help you stand out.

! To find them, go to Console, Network, Update Page, and search for ufsRelatedQueries. Click on the lowest data line to see related searches and add them to your profile overview organically.

The Hire Rate Bug
Right now, every client is showing a 0% hire rate. Clearly a bug. If you’re using Gigradar, don’t rely on the hire rate filters for now—they’re all wrong.

Wrong Job Counts for Clients Too
Freelancers already had the problem of showing the wrong number of jobs on their profiles. Now clients are also affected. The job counts for them are wrong too, so don’t trust those numbers!

Free Invites and Job Posts
Good news! Freelancers don’t have to pay to accept invites anymore. And clients can post jobs for free. Let’s hope this sticks around!

New Look for Client Job Proposals
Clients now see job posts and proposals differently. A big thanks to Sofia for sharing her screen and pointing this out. That's not an algorithm change!
